Restructuring Anchor desk: Lynette: How many times
have you gone to a doctor with a painful condition like sinusitis, migraines,
or low back pain, subjected to a host of expensive screening tests and
then put on different trials of medication, only to have minimal if any relief
from your pain? Mark: You know, Lynette, conventional medicine
can help many people who suffer from a variety of illnesses, or ailments,
but there are medical conditions that do not always resolve with standard
or conventional medical treatments. And our reporter, Norm McBride, is
here to tell us about NeuroCranial Restructuring, a dynamic approach to treating
these conditions. Norm: (location - doctor's office)
In traditional NATURAL medicine, physicians guide patients in hygienic living
by the use of pure food, water, exercise and deep breathing. They also treat
infections with herbs, nutritional deficiencies with vitamins and minerals,
and detoxify patients exposed to metals, chemicals and other toxins. Patients
receiving PHYSICAL medicine, including massage, physical therapy, and osteopathic
or chiropractic spinal manipulations, are often disappointed with short-
term relief of symptoms, rather than long term results. Patient testimonial:
(In examination room - Can use excerpt from Karen Jensen testimonial
- black tape tape) Q #1 - What brought you in for NeuroCranial Restructuring?
Q #2 - How long have you, or had you suffered with this problem? Q #3
- What other therapies or treatments did you try before NCR? Q #4 - How
did you find out about NCR? Q #5 - Were you willing at this point to try anything
for relief? Q #6 - Were you pleased with your results from NCR? "I
had suffered from this condition for several years. I tried everything from
traditional medical therapies to standard alternative treatments with
little if any resolution of my pain. When I heard about this therapy from
my (friend, doctor, etc.) I was willing to try anything that would give me
some relief. I never expected to have this kind of positive response.")
Off-camera narration: (Graphics of the actual mechanism of treatment
- internal to the skull) NeuroCranial restructuring represents the
next medical leap in healing techniques. It offers a manipulation process
that unwinds the body, and allows it to gradually return to its original and
optimal design. Your doctor will analyze the patterns of balance and determine
what areas of your skull need to be "unlocked." This process of unlocking
allows a release of actual tension and moves the bony parts of your skull
- and consequently the whole skeletal system - back to the body's most stable
and symmetrical position. Dr. Howell: Q #1: What
are the 3 components essential to health? Q #2: Will a healthy change in lifestyle
necessarily impact the body's mechanical functions? Q #3 - Does a person
sometimes need actual structural repairs in order to heal? Q #4 - How
does NCR specifically address the needed structural changes and what does
this ultimately impact? "Good structure, healthy lifestyle and freedom
from toxicity are the necessary components of good health. A healthier
change in your lifestyle will positively impact your body's mechanical operation,
but probably not enough to make significant improvements in the structure.
On the other hand, a poor lifestyle will make the body's structure deteriorate
more rapidly. A person's body often needs structural repairs in order
to fully heal. NeuroCranial Restructuring, or NCR as I call it, does just
that. It works on both the nervous and musculo-skeletal systems and can help
a number of diverse conditions because it DOES optimize the functioning
of the brain and the body." Norm: ( Dr. Howell in the background
assessing patient) Dr. Howell has revolutionized the world of natural
medicine by perfecting the ultimate cranial and muskulo-skeletal therapy known
as NeuroCranial Restructuring. Since 1982 he has been optimizing this
technique and his success has now led him to create certification programs
for physicians and other allied health professionals so that this therapy
can be accessible to patients all across the nation.
Voice over: (footage from Hilary's demo of NCR treatment by Dr. Howell)
During an initial session, your doctor will examine you and test you
body for balance related patterns. Only certain specific areas of your body
need to be treated during each therapy session. After using some specialized
massage techniques, and placing you in a special position, endonasal balloons
are inserted through your nostril and into the top of your throat. The
doctor then squeezes the bulb, inflating the balloon, which expands the skull
and releases specific joints in the head. The ultimate goal is to shift a
small but powerful bone in the center of the skull called the sphenoid bone,
which will in turn release the connective tissue and permit further structural
change. A series of 4 treatments each lasting 30 minutes is recommended for
the first series. Most individuals benefit from three to six series of
therapy. Patient testimonial: (Cindy Lovejoy) Q #1 - Why did
you come for the NCR treatment? Q #2 - Did the doctor explain the purpose
of NCR to you during your first visit? Q #3 - Were the balloons uncomfortable
during the treatment - was it painful? Q #4 - Did you have any unexpected
symptoms after the treatment? Q #5 - Was your condition immediately impacted
by the first treatment? Q #6 - How long has it been since your condition
had responded to any therapy prior to NCR? Q #7 - Did you look forward
to the next treatments after your initial response? I came to my
Dr. suffering from severe migraines. He explained the purpose of NCR and
he explained the steps of the procedure. The balloons were uncomfortable but
not unbearable. After the treatment I felt somewhat lightheaded. I then
realized that some of the pain in my head had diminished. I hadn't felt this
kind of relief in years. I actually looked forward to the next 3 treatments
and the subsequent cycles that were recommended.) Voice over: (Show
a series of different areas of the body and the actual NCR being performed)
What Makes NCR different from all other therapies? It is the currently
the only physical medicine technique that routinely expects to produce rapid,
permanent and cumulative changes to the skull, spine, pelvis and nervous
system. The use of balance testing insures the precise targeting of the treatment
and the assurance of continual improvement to your system's overall performance.
Treatments therefore provide essentially permanent healing. Osteopathic or
Cranial-sacral therapy are the most common or standard forms of cranial treatment,
using pressure from the outside of the skull to attempt to balance the
distribution of spinal fluid. NCR takes these concepts of therapy a step further
by focusing on moving the sphenoid bone to improve overall structural
stability and symmetry of the skull. After treatment, over time, the skull
and spine will continue to move into their natural intended and most stable
positions. Contributing doctor stand up: (sitting in his office)
- (Ross Hauser, MD from black tape inserted here with sound bites)
Q #1 - Can you name a series of conditions that NCR can impact? Q #2 -
What are some of the negative side effects that a patient may experience after
NCR? Q #3 - Is NCR a localized form of therapy or something else? What
then, might you find in patients, as a result of its generalized applications?
Q #4 - Can this therapy impact things like balance, emotions, muscle tension,
breathing? Q #5 - How can it affect one's facial appearance? "I have
found NCR a valuable therapeutic approach to a number of conditions including:
· Alzheimer's · Down's Syndrome · Acute and chronic ear infections
· Visual problems · Insomnia · TMJ · Muscular dystrophy · Parkinson's
· Phobias · Sinusitis · Stroke · Back Problems · Breathing and
sinus disorders, including snoring After the procedure, there can be
some short term, negative side effects including lightheadedness, aching
in the jaw or skull, runny nose, nosebleed, eye tearing. On the other
hand, because NCR is a generalized treatment rather than a specific target
treatment, patients may find themselves more energetic, clear-headed,
happy, athletically inclined. They may also experience better nasal breathing,
better balance, decreased muscle tension, decreased emotional tension
and of course less pain, regardless of their initial presenting complaint.
Facial shape has been known to change and become more symmetrical."
Q #1 - What was your initial complaint when you came for NCR? Q #2 - What
were your unexpected, and surprising positive side effects from the therapy?
Dr. John Trowbridge MD or Dean Odmark, D.C. or another medical practitioner
(Sitting in his office study. Can be pointing to before and after photos
on computer screen) Q #1 - How does a patient's face change - even
coincidentally- As NCR treatment progresses? Q #2 - How may the nose, eyes,
even jaw line of the person be affected? Q #3 - Is this usually well received
by the patient? Q #4 - Does looking better have health benefits for the
patient? Q #5 - Can NCR be combined with other treatments or medical therapies?
"You know, one of the most profound outcomes from NeuroCranial restructuring
is that facial skin may now fit properly, with the lines and wrinkles
of the face decreasing. The nose and eyes of the patient may appear straightened,
and the jaw line more centered. As you can well imagine this is a well-
received "side effect" of the treatment. And of course, with looking better,
the patient also feels better. Also remember that this therapy can be
combined or used in conjunction with other more traditional therapies."
Norm: If you are looking for a technique that optimizes the
functioning of the brain and body as well as an approach that treats the source
of many conditions, NCR may be that treatment. And since it offers cumulative
benefits, as well as almost immediate pain reduction, NCR can contribute to
prolonged and balanced health. As always, do consult with your own personal
physician before embarking on any new treatment plan. This is Norm McBride
for Business World News. Now back to you, Lynette. Lynette:
This sounds like the next generation of natural therapies. I am truly impressed,
especially with the changes in the faces and the postures of the patients.
Mark: I agree. And it certainly beats surgery or long- term
medication. If you (the viewer) are interested in further information, go
